Erica Suzanne Fultz Reviews 2022 [Best Matchmaker For You?]
Checking out Erica Suzanne Fultz reviews is a good idea if you’re thinking about hiring her. After all, you can’t put your future love life in the hands of just anyone.
From how much she costs to her matchmaking approach and dating advice, keep reading for all the info you need to decide if this Minnesota matchmaker is right for you!
Meet Erica Suzanne Fultz
A 20+ year veteran of the matchmaking industry, Fultz worked at several national dating agencies before branching out on her own.
But she originally got her start in sales, taking a job selling fax machines right after graduating college with a social science degree. Her first foray into the world of matchmaking was a sales position with It’s Just Lunch, a national matchmaking service.
As she explained in an interview, “It sounded so romantic to be a matchmaker, but I had no idea what the job entailed.”
Fultz told North Valley Magazine she loved working there but felt the national service was “all about money.” So after 2 years there, she launched her own dating agency in Stillwater, MN. She called the boutique service “Love In Style,” and ended up selling it in 2004.
In 2016 she joined LUMA Luxury Matchmaking, leaving 2 years later to launch Erica Suzanne Matchmaking.
Her service is based in the greater Minneapolis, MN area, but she also has a presence in Chicago, Florida and California. She partners with Arizona matchmaker Joann Cohen, and helps singles in Scottsdale as well.
The Modern Day Matchmaker’s Approach To Finding Love
Erica Suzanne Matchmaking specializes in matchmaking for singles in their 40s and up. She’s truly a boutique matchmaker, maintaining a limited roster of active clients. She typically works with 15 or so people at a time.
Her clients are typically “pretty established,” as she revealed in the magazine interview. They are “strong, passionate, driven and emotionally mature.”
Her matchmaking process begins with a 15-minute consultation phone call, followed by a more in-depth interview. This interview can be in person or via Zoom.
If you decide to hire Erica Suzanne as your personal matchmaker, you’ll go through her intake process. Be prepared to share, because as she shared in an interview, she will be “digging deep:”
I am talking about their relationships with their parents, the relationship their parents had together, their own relationships in the past. Is there trauma? Maybe it’s awesome things they’re talking about. [Clients] get personal with me.
You can also expect to fill out a detailed questionnaire with information about your lifestyle, beliefs, preferences, etc. She’ll use this document to screen matches for you, but as she explains,
...I can never predict chemistry. I wish I had some magic juju that I could tell whether someone is going to match. I'd be retired and living in Fiji right now if I could.
Once she’s got an idea of the type of people you’d like to meet, you’ll be matched with some of the 6,500 or so singles in her database.
She and her team also scout for potential matches on dating sites and social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn, or out in the community and via her network of professional contacts.
When she finds a potential match and the interest is mutual, Fultz and her team arrange the date for you. After each one, you’ll complete a post-date survey and provide feedback.
Need A Little Dating Coaching?
Fultz has you covered. Coaching and advice is a big part of her matchmaking process.
As she tells the Pioneer Press, “If you aren’t loving yourself and happy with yourself, there is no way I can create any kind of match that is going to work. Ever.”
In fact, if you’re not open to suggestions, she may not take you on as a client. As she puts it, “... that’s kind of defeating the purpose. Why would you go to a personal trainer at the gym if you’re not going to follow the recommendations?”
She’s also not afraid to recommend cosmetic and physical improvements, citing the “look good, feel good” philosophy:
You’ve got to put yourself out there in the best light — the best self that you can be. You have to show that you’re wanting to be there. If you dress a certain way, and you’re caring about your looks, you’re showing that you want to be there.
Often these recommendations come by way of a Pinterest board she’ll create for you, filled with photos of a particular hairstyle or wardrobe suggestions.
Now that you know more about how her service works, you’re probably wondering how much it costs to hire her…
Erica Suzanne Matchmaking Cost
Joining her internal database of singles is free, but there’s no guarantee of ever being contacted by her unless you’re a paying client.
Matchmaking costs start at $12,000 for a 6-month contract, and a year-long contract costs around $25,000. The final cost depends on each client’s individual situation and matching criteria.
You can put your membership on hold for as long as you want to date a match. Clients are guaranteed at least 3 matches during a 6-month session.
So, is this professional matchmaker worth the price?
Checking out Erica Suzanne Fultz reviews on local platforms can help you decide. But while Fultz has garnered a few media mentions, her service has yet to be reviewed on platforms like Trustpilot, Yelp, or the BBB.
She has 4 out of 5 stars on Google, and while 3 of the 4 reviewers praised her communication skills, it’s unclear if they actually used her matchmaking services:
Of course, she’s only been in business since 2018 and works with a limited number of clients at a time. So a lack of client reviews, positive or negative, isn’t that unusual.
Before hiring any matchmaking service, you’ll want to look at two big factors: cost & contract.
Cost is always a factor, as the service needs to fit your budget. And many matchmaking services require the entire membership fee to be paid before your service starts, whether you’re signing up for 6 months, 12 months or longer.
In other words, you’re paying the same amount whether you meet someone immediately, a few months in, or an entire year later.
But that’s not always the case. Other matchmaking services don’t use long-term contracts at all, opting for a pay-as-you-go structure.
Modern Matchmaking, With No Long-Term Commitment
With VIDA Select, matchmaking packages are paid on a month-to-month basis. So if you meet someone right away, you’re not paying for time you don’t end up needing.
And if it turns out VIDA Select isn’t the right matchmaker for you, you simply don’t continue on the next month. You’re not locked into a 6 or 12-month obligation with a service that didn’t end up being quite the right fit.
The average VIDA Select client meets someone special within just 3 months of service.
That’s largely because your personal matchmaker has direct access to the largest pool of singles there is. She’s not limited to an internal database, so you don’t have to cross your fingers and hope your perfect match signed up for the same you did!
