Tinder Festival Mode 2024: What It Is & How To Use It!

Tinder Festival Mode gives you another way to connect with matches, and as the name implies, it’s geared toward music lovers. Keep reading to find out exactly how this Tinder feature works, where to find it and more! 

Let’s start with “What is Tinder’s Festival Mode?”

Tinder Festival Mode Explained

Tinder Festival Mode originally launched back in 2019, then was temporarily shelved during the pandemic. This social feature relaunched in April of 2022, in partnership with Live Nation, AEG Presents and Superstruct Entertainment.

It’s a special feed where users can match based on their plans to attend the same music festival or their general passion for live music. Located in the “Explore” hub where you'll find all the interactive features like Hot Takes, Festival Mode aims to give singles a space where they can connect up to a month before a scheduled event. 

Why include a feature like this in a dating app? According to Tinder, 64% of singles enjoy meeting new people at live music events, and 61% of them report becoming friends or dating someone they met there.

Kyle Miller, Tinder’s VP of Product Innovation, explained that the feature is designed to help fans connect in a new way before a show. 

Music is a universal language and the number-one interest among Tinder members worldwide. Festival Mode gives you a chance to get yourself back out there, meet new people, and make friends before you hit the festival grounds. It’s a great, low-pressure way to make real world connections again.

Festival Mode is a global feature, with 20+ of the biggest music events across 10 countries included. US festivals include Bonnaroo, EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, The Governors Ball and Stagecoach.

Internationally, you’ll find Lollapalooza in several countries, All Points East in the UK, Falls Festival, Festival X and Splendour in the Grass in Australia, and many more.

How To Access Festival Mode On Tinder

You’ll find Festival Mode in Tinder Explore, the hub where all the interest-based match feeds and social features are. To open Explore, click on the window icon in the menu bar.

The Festival Mode feature will be displayed along with all the other feeds you can join, like “Coffee Date,” “Free Tonight” and “Looking For Love.”

Tap “Jump In” to join one of the Festival Mode feeds. You’ll see a colorful border around all the profiles you check out while using this feature. 

The “Festivalgoers” feed is the default setting in Festival Mode. That’s where you can meet people who are interested in going to any event, or just love live music in general and want to connect with other fans.

You can add, remove or change the festivals in your lineup by tapping on the Festival Mode box at the top of the screen, then “Edit festivals”.

You’ll see any events that are coming up within a month. Tap on the ones you want to include in your lineup, then tap “Save”.

To change festival feeds, tap the box at the top of the screen and select the event you want from your lineup.

Now your card stack will change to people who are also planning to attend it, and you can swipe through them just like you would normally.
