Talia Goldstein founded Three Day Rule in 2013, after quitting her day job as a TV producer to pursue her love of matchmaking. 

Inspiration for the company name came from the movie Swingers, whose characters explained how the 3 Day Rule works. That’s how long you should wait to call a girl you’ve just met.

Since then, Three Day Rule has grown into a professional matchmaking service headquartered in LA with offices in 11 other cities: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego, Scottsdale, Silicon Valley, and Washington DC.

Three Day Rule Pricing

It’s free to be listed in Three Day Rule’s database of eligible singles. You simply fill out a profile online, and then wait to be matched with paying clients.

If you want a matchmaker to actively look for your potential dates, you’ll need to join as a paying client. Three Day Rule prices start at $5,900.

Potential clients can choose from these membership options:

• A minimum of 3 matches guaranteed over the course of 3 months for $5,900
• A minimum of 6 matches guaranteed over the course of 6 months for $9,500
• VIP memberships start at $18,500 for 6 months of matchmaking

All packages include a photo shoot with a photographer and 2 dating coaching sessions.

They also offer “Dating Strategy Services" in the form of 50-minute sessions via Skype. You can purchase 1, 2, or 10 sessions for an additional fee.

To get started, you fill out the online contact form.

Then you’ll have an in-person consultation with a professional matchmaker in your city. The initial interview lasts around an hour, and you’ll talk about yourself and what you’re looking for in a match and a long-term relationship.

If you decide you want to join the dating service as a paying client, you’ll sign a 3- or 6-month contract.

Where Do Your Matches Come From?

You’ll be introduced to any free members in the database who meet your criteria, and contacts from your matchmaker’s personal network.

Three Day Rule matchmakers also recruit eligible singles at events, and will approach any intriguing people they come across while out and about to ask if they’d like to join the dating pool.

When your matchmaker identifies a potential match, she’ll meet with that person for at least an hour to ensure they’re a good fit.

You’ll then receive a picture and a bio. This presentation counts as one of your “official” matches, even if you decide you don’t want to meet that person.

If you accept the match, contact information is exchanged and it’s up to you to schedule the date. Your matchmaker will gather feedback on the quality of the match after the date.
