2. Three Day Rule

Three Day Rule also explicitly shares a photo and bio for every match before asking you to commit, which makes them stand out from many of the other mid-to-upper-tier matchmakers in the US. The service was founded by Talia Goldstein in 2010.

How it works: After an intake interview, you're paired with a personal matchmaker who draws from Three Day Rule's network of over 250,000 singles across their active cities. Before a match is presented, your matchmaker meets with them in person to verify compatibility and check for chemistry cues you might not pick up from a profile alone. You then see a photo and brief bio and decide whether to move forward.

Pricing: Starts at $6,300 for a 3-month, 3-match package. The six-month package is the most popular at around $9,500 for six guaranteed matches, and VIP memberships run $19,500 or more.

How it works: LUMA conducts in-depth interviews at the start of the process. The company says each client benefits from around 50 interview touchpoints conducted by their matchmaker. 4. Enamour

Enamour is a luxury matchmaking service founded in 2009 that uses a blend of relationship psychology, recruiting technology, and in-person scouting to source matches. Clients approve matches based on photo and profile before an introduction is made.

How it works: The search starts with Enamour's invitation-only database, but that's only the beginning. The team also uses recruiting technology and a network of scouts to source candidates beyond the existing database. Every potential match is screened in person or via video call before being presented for your approval. Your matchmaker then asks the "third-date questions" during the screening phase, so the people you actually meet already align with your non-negotiables on kids, values, and lifestyle.

5. Cinqe Matchmaking

Cinqe has one of the most explicit photo-review processes in the industry, and it happens before you sign a contract. During the evaluation phase, clients get on a video call with the matchmaking team to review photos and bios of potential matches. If the pool doesn't look right for you, you haven't committed to anything yet.

How it works: After you submit an inquiry, a Cinqe matchmaker conducts a phone screening to discuss your goals and ideal match. The team then arranges a video meeting where they present photos and bios of the people they have in mind for you. If you feel the fit is right, they send a custom membership offer. If seeing photos before meeting is non-negotiable for you, don't assume. Ask. Here are the questions that will get you a clear answer during your consultation:

"Will I see a photo and profile of every potential match before the date is scheduled?" The answer should be yes, without qualification. Watch for hedging language like "you'll get a description" or "we'll tell you about them." That usually means no photo.

"If I pass on a match based on the photo, does that count as one of my guaranteed matches?" Because of the work that goes into the screening process, some services count presented matches against your total whether or not you agree to meet. Others only count actual in-person dates. Know which model you're signing up for.

"Can I see examples of the match profiles I'll receive?" A service confident in its profile quality will walk you through what a typical match package looks like. 

"What happens if I don't feel the photos are a fit for my type?" The right answer is that your matchmaker goes back to the search and finds better-aligned options.
