Steve Fox started his matchmaking service back in the late 70s, in Manhattan. A friend owned a private club that was only open on Friday and Saturday nights, and Steve saw an opportunity.
His first singles event, held at his friend's club on a Wednesday night, attracted 120 people. And the Steve Fox Social Club was officially launched.
Since then, he has expanded his matchmaking service to include South Florida. He now splits his time between NYC and the sunshine state.
His mixer events have grown as well. They now attract 300 to 500+ people, and venues include places like The Wick Theatre and Blue Martini in Florida, and Juniors in NYC.
Steve Fox also offers traditional matchmaking services. He uses his parties as a way to add eligible singles to his database.
Steve Fox Social Events
He typically holds one event every month in both Florida and NYC. He estimates that 90% of the people who come to Social Club events are 50 to 70 years old, and 60-70% are Jewish.
Steve Fox singles dances include drinks and food. They typically cost $15 for a pre-paid ticket, which you can buy on the website, or $20 at the door.

The Matchmaking Process & Cost
Prospective clients can submit their contact and background information via a form on the Social Club website, or call Steve directly.
The next step is a 60-minute consultation to talk about what kind of people you want to meet. You’ll also have the opportunity to describe your “perfect match.”
If you decide to sign up, you’ll be matched with some of the 25,000 or so eligible singles in his database. There are two matchmaking packages to choose from:
- 5 introductions for $5,000
- Unlimited introductions over 12 months for $10,000
Steve Fox does offer a matchmaking guarantee if you opt for the more expensive package. He’ll continue to work with you for as long as it takes to meet someone who matches your ideal partner criteria.
In the event that you get engaged to or marry someone you met via his matchmaking service, you’ll pay him an “additional bonus” of $7,500. (An “engagement” under the terms of his contract is “any introduction that is exclusive or lasts for 6 months or longer.”
And if you go on 12 or more dates with the same match, he’ll get an additional $3,000.
