Meet St. Louis Matchmaker Darci Roberts

Born and raised in St. Louis, Darci Roberts has a background in communications, with a Master’s in Media and Strategic Communications. Before making the leap into matchmaking, Roberts worked as the digital director for a non-profit organization focusing on social and racial justice.

Roberts says she has always had a deep-seated passion for love and relationship building. As she shared with Global Love Spotlight, she has always “been the friend that enjoyed connecting good people with each other.” 

This love for connection in part arose from her childhood observations of family dynamics. Roberts’ parents and grandparents had strong, loving relationships that gave her an up-close understanding of what a supportive partnership entails.

Her mother played a critical role in helping her lay the foundation for becoming a matchmaker. As Roberts explained, 

“I remember my mom always saying to my brothers and I that the two most important decisions you make in your life are what you do, your career; and who you choose to spend your life with, your life partner.”

After watching how hard it was for several of her friends and family members to find the right person to share their lives, Roberts launched Matched with Love. As she told Spectrum News, 

“The biggest gift that I can give anyone in life is introducing them to their life partner, and introducing them to someone that they can feel a strong love with, so that’s really important.”

Matched with Love caters to millennials seeking a long-term relationship. As she explained in an interview, her service targets a very specific niche: 

“If you’re a single young professional – millennials between the ages of 26 and 42 – and are open and ready for a long-term relationship, you should join Matched with Love.”

Clients are primarily from the greater St. Louis area, however, they accommodate singles from across the country, inviting them to join their singles database.

The Matched With Love Team’s Dating Philosophy

According to Roberts, singles seek out her service to “learn more about themselves and more about what they want.” 

To that end, Matched With Love also provides dating and relationship coaching. Darci Roberts works closely with Jasmine Mauss, a licensed marriage and family therapist.

The pair frequently share their dating advice via social media and interviews. Roberts is a big advocate of taking a proactive approach to dating, advising singles to try and go on at least one date a month with someone new. 

“Even if it isn’t your person, you will have an opportunity to make an impression on someone new and practice your dating skills!”

When working with her dating coaching clients, Jasmine Mauss says she helps clients stay aligned with their values and focus on long-term compatibility rather than a specific list of “must haves”. 

As Mauss explained in an interview with Spectrum News, 

“Oftentimes, people will be looking for very specific things, but not necessarily having the awareness of what is going to matter to them long term, and that’s kind of what I’m hoping to uncover.”

The matchmaking team also helps clients identify both their dating needs and their red flags, helping them define the qualities their ideal partner should have. 

Roberts suggests a helpful exercise for singles is to write down your non-negotiables, as that will help you pinpoint what you truly want in an ideal partner. 

She also encourages her clients not to rush the dating process. Those seeking relationships should try to nurture a foundational friendship first if they wish to see their relationship bloom into a lasting commitment. 

In her words, “If you want it to last, don’t skip the friendship part.”

How Matched With Love Works

A boutique matchmaker, Darci Roberts only works with a limited number of active clients at any one time - usually between 4 and 6. These clients typically fall within the age range of 26 to 50 years.

Potential clients start by filling out a contact form on the Matched With Love website. 

A questionnaire will then be sent to you via email, giving you a chance to describe yourself, your ideal partner, and your relationship goals. After completing the form, you’ll become a member of the Matched with Love singles database.

If you indicated interest in purchasing a matchmaking package, someone from the team will also reach out to schedule a consultation call. 

This call is to assess if you're a good fit for their services and vice versa, and you’ll learn about the available matchmaking and dating coaching packages. 

If you decide to move forward and sign a contract, next up is a more in-depth one-on-one meeting to gain a deeper understanding of your past relationships, expectations, and the qualities you're looking for in an ideal partner.

You’ll be meeting matches pulled from the Matched With Love database, or sourced via Roberts’ network of contacts. All candidates will be interviewed prior to being sent to you for approval.

Matched with Love also recommends date coaching sessions with Jasmine Mauss to complement the process. 

These sessions aim to uncover a client’s dating habits, attachment styles, values, love languages, and level of confidence, among other things that play an integral role in nurturing successful relationships.

Roberts explains her matchmaking approach this way:

“We want not only to match you with really, really incredible partners but be open to developing yourself, be open to feedback, be open to hearing ways that your relationships might not have succeeded in the past and how you can grow.”

Matched with Love also offers other services like professional photography, image consulting, and styling advice.

How Much Does Matched With Love Cost?  

You can become part of the Matched With Love database for free. As a database member, you can attend their singles events, and it also means you might be paired with a paying client if you meet the criteria.

But it’s not an active membership, so no search will be done on your behalf. For that, you’ll need to purchase a matchmaking package. Contracts typically span 3, 6, or 12 months.

Roberts doesn’t disclose matchmaking fees on the Matched With Love website. That’s not unusual for a boutique service, as the final cost takes into consideration factors such as the extent of your search, the duration of your matchmaking agreement, and your specific preferences regarding matches.
